![]() ![]() more tice with out turning everyone into caricatures.So I was pleased to find myself thoroughly involved in this book by about 1/3 of the way in. ![]() But then I read about the author being a native Floridian (as I am) and I thought, well, I should give this a go, she should be able to do "old Florida" jus. Review 2: I put off reading this book for a long time because it just had way too redneck-y a vibe for me to think I'd find it enjoyable. I'll be looking for the next books in the series for a light, fun read. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable read that kept me guessing as to the villain. The only part that had me raising my eyebrows in disbelief was when Mace purported to not know some of the most basic Spanish words like "chica." Not believable. The writing style is cozy and homey, and while the characters bear some resemblance to caricatures, they aren't any less fun for it. Review 1: A fun, down-home style mystery. ![]()
